How to Connecting Smartfren ZTE AC682 in Linux

Today my friend in facebook ask me about how to connecting modem smartfren ZTE AC682 in ubuntu (Linux) . I know how to connecting modem smartfren ZTE AC682 in ubuntu (Linux) but I hasn’t share in my official site . In this time I will share about How to connecting modem smartfren ZTE AC682 in ubuntu (Linux) . We will using wvdial to connecting modem smartfren ZTE AC682 in ubuntu (Linux) . Check this out the way :D

1. firstly, I think wvdial isn’t installed by default in ubuntu, so we must install this application first.

root@r3m1ck:~$ sudo apt-get install wvdial

2. After we finished installing the wvdial , the next step is checking port of the usb flash

Ok there is Bus 007 Device 002: ID 19d2:ffde ONDA Communication S.p.A. , but that drive is read as flashdisk not a modem flash, ok next step we will eject that drive so it can be a modem flash device.

and then we check again the list of usb drive

okay, from ffde into ffdd successfully , next step

r3m1ck@xr3m1ckx-killer-Machine:~$ sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x19d2 product=0xffdd

then we will configure the wvdialconf

Found a modem on /dev/ttyUSB0.
Modem configuration written to /etc/wvdial.conf.
ttyUSB0: Speed 9600; init “ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0”
ttyUSB2: Speed 9600; init “ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0”

after that way , next we must add smartfren settings into our conf file

put into first line

the last step is connecting the Smartfren ZTE AC682

Yup, we successfully connecting the usb flash modem Smartfren ZTE AC682 in Linux .

    After trying 3 months to connect the ZTE AC682 modem I am now successful by following your tutorial here. Cheers! The following line is the main key for this success:

    Phone = #777sudo

    I didn’t know that I require to give sudo in this line. The concept is really new to me. Anyway, once again thanks for your tuto.
